Semarang is one of the major cities in Indonesia that is very attractive to visit with more than 150 tourism objects. Unfortunately, since the Covid 19 pandemic reached Indonesia in 2020, our tourism sector has decreased. As the covid pandemic fades in the world, Indonesia's tourism sector has begun to recover, including the Semarang City area.
According to data from the Semarang City government, in 2022 the total number of tourist visits to Semarang reached 5,343,151 people, which 4,918 came from other countries. Unfortunately, this number is still less than the number of tourist visits to Semarang in 2019 which reached 7,305,559 where 82,030 were foreign tourists.
To help increase tourist visits to Semarang, promotions are needed that include an introduction to tourism, culture, and history in the city of Semarang. In addition, tourists also need guides and affordable tour fees.
Here’s at TripScout, We want to revive Semarang City's tourism by promoting it through the TripScout application. This application is designed to make it easier for tourists to get information and guidance about tourism in Semarang City. Therefore, tourists can experience tourism at a cheaper cost since they do not need to hire a tour guide.
Based on our research, we found two similar apps, Desa Wisata Nusantara and Tripadvisor. But neither of these two apps make it easy for users to find tourism information without having to know the name.
Here’s at TripScout, We offer the Image Prediction feature that allows tourists to get detailed information about the tourism object through pictures. Our goal is to make it easier for tourists who visit Semarang to get detailed tourism information just by taking a picture without having to know the name of the tourism attraction in advance.
In the machine learning section, we provide 10 classes of tourism object that will be trained using deep learning methods using tensorflow. then we will deploy the model to the server using tensorflow js.
For local deployment, we will spend the first and second month to do re improvement on our application such as tuning the model and improving UI/UX. In the second and third months we will add additional features such as tourist spot recommendations and community forums. In the third and fourth months we will do testing on the application, in the fourth and fifth months we will do bug fixing, in the fifth month we will deploy our application and release it to the public. and the last two months are used for application monitoring and maintenance.
Our target market is people with an age range of 17 to 40 years old with any type of profession. We target people with special attributes and hobbies such as Traveler, Adventurer, Art/history enthusiast, Religious purpose, People who need refreshing from daily activities.
Why our target market needs our solution? First, TripScout makes it easier for tourists to get information and guidance about tourism objects without having to hire a tour guide. The tourist will get information in the form of Tourism information like descriptions, prices, facilities, locations, and photos of Tourism objects. The tourism sector also has an essential role as one of the sources for foreign exchange earnings, and can encourage national economic growth, especially in reducing unemployment and increasing the productivity of a country. stakeholders who benefit from our solution include Tourists, tourism agencies, government, and the people of the region.
The first budgeting plan for 5000 USD, we will spend $1500 for team salary, $500 for prototyping, $500 for infrastructure, $1000 for production preparation, $1000 for additional salar and for Patent.
for the second budgeting plan for 10000 USD, we will spend $5000 as planned in the first budgeting, $1000 for additional salary, $1000 for marketing and sales, $1000 for market riser and competitor analysis, $1500 for future development, and $500 for other expenses.
For source of income, we will charge $2 for a weekly subscription. We are targeting 1000 users in the first year and a 10% increase in the number of users every year.
